Jude Thomas lives in New Zealand, ‘overlooking infinity’ on the beautiful Mahurangi Peninsula north of Auckland.
Born and raised in Dunedin, Jude and was expressly forbidden by her parents to go near Maclaggan Street. This finally gave her the encouragement to dig into its murky past. She also spent many summers in the Central Otago region and can still smell the wild thyme and feel the shimmering heat. But Jude’s lasting memory of her southern upbringing is the piercing winter and her intensely itchy chilblains.
She is a member of NZ Society of Authors and the International Writers’ Workshop NZ Inc. Southern Gold is Jude’s first full length novel. In 2015 she won an MS Assessment grant from the NZ Society of Authors. This novel is the end result of the award.
